Daniel Kao

LL.B., National Taiwan University

LL.M., Columbia Law School

Daniel excels at handling a wide range of corporate legal challenges — from internal security, labor policy drafting, workplace gender equality and anti-harassment matters, contract review, and intellectual property disputes, to employee traffic accidents, executive breach of trust, and workplace theft. Daniel can provide proactive risk assessment for companies, as well as guide them through ongoing legal crises.

Daniel specializes in construction and engineering law. He has represented Taiwanese companies in the review and negotiation of cross-border engineering contracts valued at over NT$1 billion, and has served as litigation counsel for contractors, developers, architects, and project owners in construction disputes. He also regularly participates in Government Procurement Act proceedings.

Due to his fluency in English and extensive experience in cross-border matters, Daniel also frequently assists clients with international cases, including vessel disputes, English contract drafting and review, cross-border commercial negotiations, inheritance cases involving foreign nationals, and general civil and criminal matters for non-Taiwanese clients. In addition to his Taiwan bar license, Daniel is also admitted to the New York State Bar.

Daniel's legal philosophy is simple: solve the client's problem. Whether the matter involves day-to-day business operations, cross-border negotiations, or active litigation, his goal is to provide the most effective assistance possible.

Daniel is also the host of two podcasts: Daniel's Tech Show and Interesting Pod, and the author of How to Apply for an LL.M. in the United States. While he no longer has time to keep them updated, they remain a very meaningful chapter of his journey.
